Who We Are

Flint Vineyard is one of the UK’s most exciting wineries, known for its acclaimed wines, personal vineyard tours, and relaxed hospitality. Open year-round, the Cellar Door offers tastings, sales, and a seasonal lunch experience for visitors.

This hands-on, customer-facing role is focused on delivering exceptional service during tour and lunch days, supporting kitchen operations, maintaining high standards in food safety and cleanliness, and leading a small front of house team to create a welcoming, professional guest experience.

The Role

The Front of House Team is responsible for delivering a consistently high standard of food and bar service during all guest-facing activities at Flint Vineyard. This includes day-to-day service operations, staff support, and communication with the kitchen and ensuring a smooth, professional guest experience.

We’re looking for someone to join the team who can maintain up-to-date product knowledge of Flint wines and menus. Confidently communicate options and suggest pairings to enhance the guest experience. Support sales by upselling where appropriate, while maintaining an informal, knowledgeable service tone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming guests warmly, managing their arrival experience, and setting the tone for service.

  • Assist in lunch service during Vineyard Tour Days, Supper Clubs and events, working closely with the kitchen to maintain timing and quality.

  • Maintain high service standards across all guest interactions. Run service on quiet days in a calm and relaxed manner.  

  • Liaise with the kitchen team throughout service to ensure clarity and coordination.

  • Assist the FOH Supervisor in planning and staffing each service day to appropriate levels, including events and evening functions.

  • Support guests with post-tour retail purchases, guiding them through available wines and offers. Ensure accurate POS processing and uphold excellent service at every guest touchpoint.

  • Support the smooth running of day-to-day bar service in line with Flint standards.

Requirements

  • Previous Catering & Front of House experience.

  • An understanding and appreciation of wine, (English Wines particularly) is highly advantageous.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and team members alike.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

  • Familiarity with Google suite & Shopify (e.g., POS systems, booking platforms) and basic IT proficiency.
