Our Pinot Noir has been incredibly popular, surprising us and customers with how it can stand alongside a top-flight Pinot Noir or Beaujolais Cru. Recently featured on ITV as a recommendation for Christmas and championed by Olly Smith and Oz Clarke it is a wine that adds refinement and charm to any occasion.
Sadly we have now sold out of the 2019 vintage but the 2020 will shortly be bottled in July 2021. The 2021 vintage is already tasting great and is promising to be even better than the 2020. For this popular wine, we are now taking pre-orders for individual bottles or cases. The wine will be shipped to you as soon as it is ready and has been bottled.
Having worked in Beaujolais for two years, Ben was very keen to develop a red wine in England. The wine starts in the vineyard and this variety can often be elusive, requiring much care and producing very low yields that are necessary in order to yield quality. Perfectly ripe and clean fruit is picked and fermented using a combination of Beaujolaise and Burgundian techniques. The wine completes malolactic fermentation in barrel and is then further aged for up to 9 months.
The resulting wine is light in colour but bursting with aroma and taste. Full of cherry fruit with an underlying spice and earthiness and soft and silky on the palate. It can be paired with food but also enjoyed on its own or with cheeses. It drinks well young but, much like a good Beaujolais Cru or Burgundy, will age well for up to 8 years.
