As well as running our busy cellar door and tasting room tours and events at Flint, a big part of my role is getting out on the road and showing off our wines in collaboration with some of our indie wine merchant retailers and through events. I had a busy month in July hosting tastings with our friends at Vino Gusto in Bury St Edmunds.
To coincide with English Wine week, both Oli and I got to head down to the iconic Berry Bros and Rudd stores. I was pouring the wines at St James' in London, while Oli got to greet customers at their Basingstoke store. We also had a fun but slightly rainy weekend with Norwich Wine Week, alongside lots of other Norfolk based wineries, thoroughly well supported by the dedicated wine drinkers of Norwich.
Finally it was our first big day out at the Heveningham Hall Country Fair, as well as our place in the Food & Drink area. We were delighted that Heveningham chose to serve our sparkling Charmat Rosé at all the evening gala dinners to over 300 guests.
It's so important to us to taste our wines and get feedback from as many customers as possible. No matter how good we might think they are, in such an innovative market such as English wines, and many retailers choosing to stock a range of fantastic wines, pouring the wines for people is one of the most important things we can do.
